This is a seed prototype of the Cairn — a methodology and platform for sourcing, surfacing, knitting, and re-extruding generative material across distributed contributors. It runs in your browser. It saves to your local storage. It is the smallest working version of an idea designed to scale into a participatory production lineage.
v0.2 update (May 2026): the seed corpus now loads all 39 stones from the audit-revised master narrative, including the new placeholders surfaced through the lineage-recognition audit. The previous v0.1 corpus had 12 hand-selected entries; v0.2 carries the full current substrate. Honored absence is one legitimate outcome. Stones marked placeholder exist to hold the shape until the matured-form leads decide what fills them — or whether anything does.
The Cairn exists because the work the project family is doing — FEAR: the GB, The GHostBusters pARTy, AF: The Angela Ford, The Garden, the publications at avatariii.net — needs an instrument. Manual collaboration through chat threads, source compendia, and email cannot scale to the participatory production lineage the work proposes. The Cairn is the instrument.
The Cairn inverts what most contribution platforms optimize for. Reddit, social media, most forum software, and most engagement-driven products surface what generates the most reaction. The Cairn surfaces what generates the most connection and the most generativity. Quality of weave, not volume of clicks. The most-connective and most-generative material rises.

This prototype runs all four operations on a small starting corpus drawn from the FEAR archive. You can add your own contributions; they persist in this browser. You can knit timelines, run re-extrusions, and feel the shape of the methodology. This is not the Cairn at scale. It is the seed that the Cairn at scale grows from.
This seed has no backend, no multi-user infrastructure, no real attribution chain across users, no multimedia ingestion, no economic layer, no community constitution, and no equanimity protocol enforcement. The full spec is in the companion document cairn-spec.md. Phase 2 builds the working alpha.
The Cairn's whole purpose is to make the work scale without enclosing it. Every design decision in the spec descends from that sentence.
